AFFILIATES
An affiliate program is an internet-based distribution solution. The provider pays its partner with a success-oriented commission. The supplier presents his advertisements, which the affiliate can use for advertising the partner’s offers on all of his websites or via other channels.
VISITORS/ CLICKS
This is the number of visitors of the online shop in a particular time period. This is not to be confused with the number of ‘unique visitors’, by which visitors are only be counted once, even if they visit the website several times.
COOKIE
A cookie is a small text file in a computer. It generally contains data about visited websites that have been saved by the browser software whilst surfing the internet.
COST PER ORDER (CPO)
The cost per order is used to measure the efficiency of marketing operations. It defines the marketing costs of the sales.
CRR
The cost revenue ratio, or the relation between revenue and costs, shows the advertising costs compared to the revenue.
CONVERSION RATE (CVR)
The conversion rate provides the number of visitors that actually made a purchase. It shows with a percentage the relation between visitors and buyers, so it is an indicator of how effective are your advertisement strategies.
CONTRIBUTION MARGIN
The contribution margin designates the gap between revenue (margin) and variable costs. It indicates how much does a particular product contribute to cover all the fixed costs.
COSTS
These are the marketing and advertisement fees to reach a wider number of visitors in a given time period.
MARGIN
The margin is the difference between the product’s net sale price and its purchase price. A price comparison site is a website where the user can search a product and compare several prices provided by different online shops.
REVENUE
The revenue is the amount of products and/or services sold by an online shop in a given time period. To calculate the revenue, you need to time the number of sold products by the price of a single unit.
MASTER PRODUCTS AND SUBORDINATE PRODUCTS
In the fashion field, particularly, there are master items and subordinate items. Subordinate items would be products that are only different in the colour or in the size etc. However, everything else is identical. Master and subordinate items often share the same description, price or deep links. These products not only have an item number, they also have a master item number that provides information on the subordinate items.
SALES
