Mapping Data Fields

Learn how mapping data fields to your feed works.

You are here: Start -> Settings -> Data Field Mapping

After importing your feed, you should set its default mapping once. This way you inform Channel Pilot Pro which data fields in your feed contain which information.

Now Channel Pilot Pro can detect automatically which data fields in your feed are to be assigned to which data fields of your export channels. How to do it:

  1. Click on "Settings" -> "Data Field Mapping" .

  2. You will see an overview of all possible data fields. On the left you see the target data fields, the data fields predefined in Channel Pilot Pro. Now you have to assign the corresponding data fields from your feed to these data fields.

  3. Click on the empty field in the corresponding line. A drop down list will open.

  4. Now there are three possibilities:

    • The source data field already exists in your import feed: Select "Data field from import" from the drop-down menu and specify the appropriate data field.

    • The source data field is to be individually compiled from a custom data field: Click "Custom data field" and select the corresponding custom data field.

    • The source data field is to consist of a custom value: Click "Custom value" and specify the value.

  5. Proceed the same way with all data fields that you can / want to determine. To be able to use all functions of Channel Pilot Pro optimally, you should have assigned at least the following data fields:

    • Master article number

    • Product name

    • Category

    • Currency as ISO4217 code

  6. Click "Load Preview" to check if the correct value is displayed for all data fields you assigned. You can also enter a specific item number to test the values for a specific item.

  7. If everything is correct, click "Save settings".

Once you have assigned all data fields, you can quickly see where the data for each field comes from based on its color.

Good to know: You can also assign data fields in the settings of the respective channels. However, once the global data field assignment is preset, you will save valuable time when creating new channels.
