Learn, how to import your data from different sources

You are here: Start -> Settings -> Import data

Information on how to create a product feed you will find here.

Import via http/https

Select this type if your product feed is accessible via a web server. Most shop systems store product feeds publicly (under an URL). If you use password protection (e.g. .htaccess), you can also enter the access data.

The following settings are available:

  1. Character encoding

    • Automatic encoding - preset

    • UTF-8

    • UTF-16LE

    • ISO-8859_1

    • WINDOWS-1252

    • MS-DOS Latin-1

  2. Compression

    • auto - preset

    • No compression

    • ZIP

    • GIP

  3. Your product data URL

    • The URL where your product catalog can be found.

  4. Bypass caches

    • If activated, a random code is added to the URL as a "GET parameter". This can be used to bypass any existing caching mechanisms.

  5. XSLT

Import via (S)FTP with SSH-Key

SSH key authentication must be set up by the customer. You can request the key and a passphrase from your IT department.

In addition to the login data, key-based SSH authentication can be used when using (S)FTP. This offers increased security as an additional level of authentication is required.

If under "Data source" "(S)FTP" is selected, there is now the additional option of specifying an SSH key. This SSH key must be an "OpenSSH-Key". If an SSH key is specified, the "Password" field can then optionally be used as a "Passphrase".

The "PuTTY Key Generator" tool offers a way to generate an Open SSH key.

Advantages of key-based SSH key authentication are:

  • SSH key cannot be bypassed using brute force

  • SSH key can be additionally protected with a passphrase

  • SSH key is not transmitted to the server during authentication

Import feed from file

You can import your product feed directly from a file from your computer.

The following settings are available:

  1. Character encoding

    • Automatic encoding - preset

    • UTF-8

    • UTF-16LE

    • ISO-8859_1

    • WINDOWS-1252

    • MS-DOS Latin-1

  2. Compression

    • auto - preset

    • No compression

    • ZIP

    • GIP

  3. Select data

    • Choose the corresponding file from your computer.

  4. XSLT

    • For more information, click here.

  5. Click "Check source & continue"

NOTE: The maximum file size is limited to 5 MB.

If your data source check has been successful, you will receive this message.
